The Philosophical Truth

Genuine eros makes us desire a particular person; crude desire is satisfiable by fungible bodies.

In simpler terms, anyone can satisfy the body.
But the heart is quenched only by the one the heart truly desires.

On a separate note, I met my good friend from work J.'s wife K., for the first time yesterday at a party they were hosting at their house. The food was amazing. The company was even better. And the weather could not have been better. At one point during the evening, while she did the dishes and I munched on my dessert, she told me she married J. because he made her laugh.

I don't make friends with women easily. But I have a feeling her and I will get along just fine.

On another separate note, while out with some friends late last night, things I've thinking about lately came to mind again. I didn't notice that I had been gazing out the window of the bar while I continued to think what I did. Later on that night, my good friend A., asked me what it was that I had been thinking about at that time. I didn't think anyone had noticed, amongst all the noise and the company. So I told him I didn't know what he was talking about.

He smiled and walked away. So I caught up to him. I didn't tell him what it was that I was thinking. But I did tell him that he had seen right through me.

It doesn't happen very often. But the few times it does, I wonder if my friends are more perceptive than I give them credit for.
